The 23-year-old athlete clocked 10.21 seconds at the men’s 100-meter final in the city of Debrecen, located 195 kilometers west of the capital, Budapest only managing to come seventh.
Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell won the event’s title with a record of 9.91 seconds followed by Michael Mike Rodgers of the US who clocked 9.93 seconds.
Also, Kim Collins form Saint Kitts and Nevis managed to stand on the third podium after running the 100m race in 10.10 seconds.
Taftian marks Iran’s fastest 100m runner with a personal record of 10.04 seconds.
